Re: "Fits of Many Varieties" a Naomi Inoue Pseudo-Route
The OP does not count in this calculation. "...=2" means you're linking to the second reply.

Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?
This discussion started on the Fanfiction board over the creation of an Iwanako route. So as to not needlessly clutter up that thread , I thought it would be best to move the discussion to the appropriate board. If someone can think of a better title, feel free to suggest one. Iwanako has almost zer...

When the doctor said "ood choice" my first thought was a novelization of the Predator movies, but of course Kenji wouldn't do something like that...Unfortunately I doubt Soon-hee would appreciate any work of fiction involving aliens and large guns.

Re: "Fits of Many Varieties" a Naomi Inoue Pseudo-Route
Not much to say that hasn't already been said. I agree that your Hisao is very... different compared to the one we know from the VN. That's okay to a degree - Hisao is also a bit different in each of the paths, but be sure you don't take it too far (or if you really want to, be sure to do it deliber...

Re: —
The whole Hisao x Iwanako thing really can't work, with anything but a negative result. It wouldn't be compelling. Why not? There are tons of stories here where Hisao hooks up with one of the girls years after a bad end. Granted, most of them aren't great, but there are notable exceptions . Why sho...

Really? A foil???Hanako and Iwanako are great foils for each other
I'd rather say, as Iwanako is now, they are two peas in a pot: Both are depressed and insecure, and I'm not sure that that would be entirely healthy^^°
As a foil Emi would be a much better candidate.

Re: —
Leaty makes a lot of good points, but I don't agree that an Iwanako route would be bad by default. Yes, writing a story about Iwanako getting on with her life at her old school would be stupid. The reasons she gave for that I can get behind 100%. But not every KS story has to be about "finding secon...

Re: Two halves make a whole [Iwanako pseudo route]
I read a interview with a author and the advice they gave was to create a end fist and let the story fall into its place so I already know how it's middle and end will go That's good advice - within reason. It IS good to have an idea of where the story is going and how it is supposed to end. Just b...

Re: Katawa Shoujo: Going in blind. [First fic ever]
As for the Boxing, lets just say that his father is not so mad with Kazuo's safety as his mother (this is where Kazuo gets most of his non-caring attitude from). And that he actually encouraged his son to do it, much to his wife's chagrin. I might elaborate on that in one of the upcoming chapters. ...

Re: Tips for fanfiction writers (that means YOU)
Recently I've been approached via PM regarding advice for writing fanfiction. I guess what I answered would also fit in here nicely. (Names and references to specific stories removed) Q: What kind of stories should I write? A: That's not really something I can tell you... Sure, at the beginning it i...

Re: Katawa Shoujo: Going in blind. [First fic ever]
Well, for a first story this is certainly good. Descriptions and inner monologue work fine. The biggest problems by far are - as Riakai mentioned - punctuation and spelling, and an editor can help you with that. If I were you, I'd rethink the choice of boxing as the sport of choice for your characte...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Bad End) [Ch 26 up 11/21]
I totally understand this. But I also know how my thought processes work, and if I were to start naming chapters, I would be sitting here for hours coming up with one that was juuuuust right. I went with numbers for the sake of my own sanity. Amen to that. I remember how much time I spent deciding ...

Re: Two halves make a whole [Iwanako pseudo route]
Regarding the timeline: Hisao arrives at Yamaku on a Monday. The festival is the following Sunday. Many have tried to create one consistent timeline for all of KS but failed. I'd like to think that all the routes are consistent on their own, but getting them to exactly match with each other might be...

Re: Two halves make a whole [Iwanako pseudo route]
It's an interesting concept - one I'm surprised nobody thought to write before except in one-shots... Colour me interested. In fact this really feels like a string of one-shots so far. Given this is only the introduction that's not too bad, but keep it in mind for later. Two things: "A week before t...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Bad End) [Ch 26 up 11/21]
Remember that not having an answer for her doesn't go over well, too, though. ... I always try to be sparing in my quotes, but it seems this time I was too parsimonious*: Have you figured out what you're gonna say to her yet?" "I think so," Hisao says as he sits down, "but I don't think it's going ...
