Re: Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?

Oh, and as far as other characters even having the chance for a BEFF (healthy or unhealthy)... Shizune's, the bridge got napalmed. Lilly's, we can't build bridges that long. Emi's, she slammed that door HARD, and there's no chance for reconciliation (MAYBE a decade later she could merely tolerate H...

Re: Developments (Post-Lilly Neutral End) - Chapter 44 up 6/

Well, Hanako being the one who talks sense into Emi wasn't unexpected, but I think you overdid it a little.
If Hanako really thought being with Emi would be better for Hisao and his health than being with her, maybe she'll withdraw from the race next^^°

Re: Limits of Fanfiction - What is appropriate?

I don't see the attraction in them, short of a player getting a bad ending on their first playthrough of the visual novel and panicking that now that's the "real" ending for the player. I agree mostly, and I think most BEFFs are so bad, because this is the reason why most of them are written. If so...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: The most suprising thing)

Hey, some of us like certain BEFFs. (Sometimes they're heavy-handed and rather poorly written, but I think Hanako's bad end especially provides opportunities for both Hanako AND Hisao to grow in ways that even her good ending does not.) I've often disagreed with Leaty that a good author can write a...

Re: The Manila Tales –A Summer-ish Series (Updated 6/19)

...Refia used the honorific for an older sister to refer to someone who is, if we're gonna roll with this father's best friend as uncle theme, the equivalent of a cousin. Refia used the term out of respect for Soon-hee's age... Actually, using the honorific "Onee-san" for older girls who are not ac...

Re: Disheveled [Ch. 3, 6/22]

Maybe it's just me being dead tired, but this chapter felt very hard to read... Some parts of the dialogue felt a bit... unnatural? stilted? e.g. “But the levels of insatiability your body has frequented as of recent is beginning to worry me, Naomi.” Also, in this story Mutou seems to be teaching En...

Re: Which ending do you consider to be the most canon?

Lily's Good ending is the most cannon because it is the only story with a scene after the credits. ... 1) Cannons are the thing you shoot stuff with. 2) It's been stated multiple times by multiple devs that the scene after the credits does not have this significance at all. It is simply an ending t...

Refia is Hisao's daughter, no?
So I think "Hisao" is correct or it wouldn't make them relatives.

It's just a guess, but maybe he thinks she is the second best character (from a storytelling view) but completely not the type of girl he'd go for.
If so that would be close to my own thinking.

You know, sometime I'd like to read a fanfic where Shizune is playing risk and doesn't win.
That game is more about luck than strategy after all...

Re: Breaking the Sound Barrier [Update: 6/20]

I wouldn't bother chaining up my bike in downtown Tokyo let alone on the campus of a private school.

You could probably leave your wallet on a seat in Shinjuku station and if you came back an hour later it would still be either there or at the next Lost and Found.

I dimly remember reading those. Until today I did a good job forgetting about them.
I consider my life to be poorer for having read these.
And that's why I never even tried to find That Which Must Not Be Mentioned...

Re: Breaking the Sound Barrier [Update: 6/20]

In the same complete silence that I've gotten used to over the past few minutes with Hanako, we set up the computer. It doesn't take long to do the physical set up. After I pulled the desk from the wall, she handed me the cords as I plugged them into their respective slots. Hanako took a seat while...

I think what he menat by "clarify" was by what standard it should be the shortest/longest. Wordcount? Lines? Time running when on auto-mode?
I once did a word/linecount by act not by scene. If you want that, PM me.

Re: The Manila Tales –A Summer-ish Series (Updated 6/19)

Awww... You need a warning label for diabetic on this chapter^^ "...Did you have a nightmare?” “…Yes. How’d you know?” “Saw your sheet on the floor...” How old is Refia supposed to be again? I never saw the predator movies, but from what you wrote they don't seem like the kind to go after helpless g...
