Re: Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?
There's nothing wrong with a story written in past tense - most stories are. It's just that most stories here on the forum are written in first person PoV, and that lends itself better to present tense. But how could Shizune arrange Hisao's heart attack if nobody knew about his congenital heart defe...

Re: Firing Blanks - One Shots
Wow, this is what a one-shot should be like: Short, poignant and with an ending that both statisfies and leaves you wanting for more. Other than some commenters I really do think that Shizune's character has evolved: she's still socially awkward but at least now she realized the reasons for it. One ...

Re: Learning to move on
Yes, the time-skip-or-not confused me as well. In the beginning I wasn't sure if she was just remembering her dream or what had happened the day/week before either. There are a few lines that are worded a bit awkwardly - nothing too bad, but it happens quite a bit, and in a few instances I wouldn't ...

Re: A New Dawn - A Miki's love story
And HE is the narrator of the story. That's what I meant: If you use script style, he is not - Not for this part of the story anyway. Nobody tells a story like this: ...Rather banal questions like how to spend my free time, where the dormitories were and how big the library is. Miki, colon, so, you...

Re: A New Dawn - A Miki's love story
Huh, it seems my earlier reply didn't post :-( Okay, still not happy with the script format, but if you absolutely want to do it that way: If you use script format, Eikichi is not the narrator for this part. The script-part is a reading instruction by an invisible director. Said director wouldn't re...

Re: Miki: Fragments (Ch.13 Posted 28th April 2015)
Well plenty of countries don't have life-sentences anymore. Germany still has it technically but in practice "custody until death" has been ruled to be against our constitution. So usually a life sentence will mean that the sentence will be turned into a parole after 15 years - unless the criminal i...

Re: Japan to get Physical Release of Katawa Shoujo. Unfair.
Well, "physical copy" is probably stretching it a bit.
My guess is that the Japanese translation team has burned a few DVDs, printed out some covers and are giving them away for the cost of production - if that.
I think they already did that with the English version at a convention a few years back.

Re: Miki: Fragments (Ch.13 Posted 28th April 2015)
I admit i'm nervous about using Semi-colons, I know their basic function, but it's hard for me to tell when to use one above a comma. There's no hard rule… I always use them when I could as well use a full stop, but the two sentences are in some way connected to each other, for example: Emi is just...

Re: Miki: Fragments (Ch.13 Posted 28th April 2015)
A few things brythain missed: Yep, this is defiantly home. Even if she's defiant about it, this is probably meant to say "definitely" “Two daughters and a son lost their father’s that night.” Two possibilities: If the man who died had three kids it should be "father". If he had two kids (and Miki is...

Re: Members of Rooster Teeth reviewed Katawa Shoujo
Is Rooster Teeth even still doing something (besides half-assed reviews) after the passing of Monty Oum? RWBY seems to have stopped mid-season  Not sure what you mean by "mid-season." Volumes One and Two are out, and Volume Three hasn't started yet. (Although who knows how much Monty's death s...

Re: Members of Rooster Teeth reviewed Katawa Shoujo
Well, I wouldn't call that a review. Neither of them ever read the VN much beyond Act 1, and they freely admitted to skipping most of the text. One of them still complains about there being too much to read, because it's supposed to be a visual novel, without even thinking about the fact that it is ...

Re: Interesting Review (in French)
Oh well, my french is probably a bit rusty, but I think I managed to get the gist of it. So she thinks there was too much artwork and the work might have been better invested elsewhere? Not sure where she thinks it should have gone instead, though. About Lilly, she's more or less right. She IS prett...

Re: Puppet Show [OC Story] Act 2 Update! 24/04
And where is the fun in that?! Well I don't see any fun in "playing" a game where your only input is to roll a die every time it's your turn without any kind of strategic decisions at all. You could literally have a RNG calculate the outcome of the "game" for you. When I "played" Snakes and Ladders...

Re: Puppet Show [OC Story] Act 2 Update! 24/04
"I think it's good that your trying." "you're" "That girl over there, she arrived at Yamaku this year in a wheelchair. With the help of her doctor and the track team, we got her walking and then running in just a few weeks!" The VN stated that it took Emi about a year and even that was considered v...
