what if he went for one of the other minor characters? That could be a bad end. Also Iwaniko. It's more likely that Hisao would stray off of Hanako's path on to one of the other path girls rather than the furniture, which is impossible already. And Iwanako exists solely to put Hisao in the hospital...

How about having Hanako commit suicide once you leave her for another girl like Shizune? Especially after going well into Hanako's storyline? I don't think there will be much path jumping in the game. Too much added complexity. Besides, if you were on Hanako's path, you've pretty much excluded ever...

Another approach would be a "Life around Yamaku" kind of thing, focusing on all of the minor background characters. We might catch a few glimpses of the path girls here or there, but the main focus will be on the others.
