Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
For the argument of what her scars look like in comparison to real life I found a photo of a younger kid that has burn scars. I think these are the best resemblance I could find based on my interpretation. Along the lines of the shoulder and such is my best guess since it has been many years and th...

Not Pimmy's ones, those weren't lame. On that other thread, there were ones with Japanese text. Aura posted the translations, and they were not funny.Caesius wrote:Most 4komas weren't made by Japanese fans...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
Hanako is there simply so she doesn't get treated as an outcast because there are others just like her that learn/are not to judge based on physical appearence. I'll admite that physically she has no problem but she has her own problems to deal with. I'll debate more later if it gets interesting he...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
Physically, Hanako can get along as well as a 'normal' person. Her primary disabilties are emotional and mental. The complex she has over her scars, and what caused them haunts her at all times. And she is still dealing with the traumatic experience of being burned and losing her father. Tack on gui...

Re: Japanese invasion
It's pretty obvious that most Japanese racism isn't western-directed to begin with. Just look at how they treat Koreans. Then again, I've never seen Zainichi treatment firsthand, so... Historically, Japan has been very xenophobic. I remember learning this past semester about some sources describing...

Re: Japanese invasion
What can you do, sometimes it seems Misha really does suffer from mild mental retardation. But that's what makes her so likable. But although even the number of Japs interested in this game has increased, I doubt this game will get ANY sort of real attention within their land filled with VN's. If w...

Re: Favorite girl.
I tend to agree, but since KS already had its "festival episode" without a single yukata, I think the odds of the characters wearing them at some point are unfortunately low. Fortunately, we've still got the beach/pool episode and bath house/hot spring episode to look forward to... I think L...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
My friend, a former 4channer, introduced me to KS. The concept seemed strange, but interesting enough for me look it over. I immediately was drawn to Shizune's tsurime , so I downloaded the demo back in May when it first came out. My first VN. Until KS I had never heard of the genre. I joined the fo...

Re: The future
A lot of people probably hate Misha for her association with Shizune. As the only confrontational heroine, Shizune was bound to make some enemies among the fans of the other girls. As Shizune's best friend, Misha probably can't escape the anger. These people would write Misha off as annoying, just t...

Re: The future
while on the subject of word counts can you give a comparison of how much 100,000 words is? How many words is a harry potter book? LOTR? Google is a tool to be used. But Order of the Phoenix is the fattest with 257,045 words. Sorcerer's Stone is the smallest with 76,944 words. For the Tolkienites, ...
