Re: Favorite girl.
Good lord at the results. I can see Rin on top with that many but Misha on the bottom with that few? I suppose it's just a result of her not having her own route. I suppose. D: As it has been said, awhile after the poll's inception, someone hacked it to generate those Rin votes. Back when the poll ...

Re: How tall is Hisao ?
With Lilly at about 5' 7", Hisao could be at 5' 6".Aura wrote:He's slightly shorter than Lilly.

Re: Pronunciation of names?
hideaki Hee-deh-ack-ee or hye-dee-a-kee Hee-deh-ah-kee would be a close fit. The 'ee' sounds drag on longer in English than in Japanese, so imagine it as a shortened sound. Hi-de-a-ki would work if not for the ambiguities on how the vowels sound. Also, remember how the syllables work. They don't no...

Re: KS: The Fighting Game
I didn't follow the first thread but I'm noticing a distinct lack of Misha on that character list. She has a bigger role in the game than say Mutou, the Nurse, or Yuuko. She probably has more lines than the three of them combined. I think that she deserves to be a playable character.

Re: Pronunciation of names?
I think what I'm trying to say is if they have any stereotypical behaviour that goes along with the accent when they mock it. Unfortunate as it may be, I think stereotyping is an almost universal facet of society. Every society. With a culture as insular as Japan's I wouldn't doubt the existence of...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Panel at the Manifest Anime Convention
The game appears to have garnered quite a following. I wonder if the Devs will be invited to more conventions after final release. Though, with their work done, I'm not sure what they would have to talk about.Aura wrote:conventions

Re: Pronunciation of names?
I wonder how hard the Japanese work on English pronunciation, because it rarely seems right. They usually add an extra vowel sound at the end, since that's what they're used to, I guess. Like... Red would be 'REDDO' or something, ice would be "AISU", and stuff like that. Though that's what I like a...

Re: Pronunciation of names?
I don't know anything about reading Japanese, but from listening, anything that is romanized as either L or R is pronounced with a single rolled R. I'm probably generalizing, but it seems to hold most of the time.

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
Yume Miru Kusuri Just started that one recently and went down the Aeka path. I do hope you finish the other two paths. The path satisfaction from Aeka's path is definitely the confrontation scene. Nekoko's path is a lot of fun, and the end is really sweet. Mizuki's path is CRAZY, and the end will g...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
Although Emi's problem seems to have been (almost) solved, I am sure that the mental/psychological trauma related to her accident is definitely there... lol I may be pushing my luck, but she might be more psychologically/mentally messed up than Hanako... but it is well hidden behind her passion for...
