Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
I just fumbled my way reading the pages on the F@H site... Once I got it working I haven't wanted to risk busting it.

Re: Cool story bro: bionic limbs one step closer.
Its amazing how far technology can go. No less then half a century ago the best people could get was a little claw for a hand. Now people can get an artificial limb that acts just like the real thing. They should use this for all those vets who come home from Iraq or Afghanistan missing arms, legs ...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team
Wow! I just looked at the F@Home stats page and we are at 401 team ranking. We are just about at the tipping point to tumble into the 300's in an update or two.

That's not a disability it is an alternative un-life style....Elroy wrote:Maybe she IS dead, and she's become bloated. That's why she's fat, and that's what her disability is! Being undead! Open-and-shut case if I do say so myself.

Re: Learning Japanese.... Who is into it?
The bigger issue with English's vocabulary is that the vast majority of its more commonly used verbs are irregular. Most languages don't have half as many irregular verbs used half as often. Any idea to explain why english has so many irregular verbs compared to other languages; are they hold overs...

Re: Misha's disabillity?
I still say Misha's disability is that she is still breathing. Seriously, do the authors have to describe the school to us down to the last beam, plank, brick and plumbing fixture for them to make a good enjoyable story? .... I suppose there is such a thing as too much detail, but I, pers...

Re: Misha's disabillity?
I'd advise not losing sight of the forest for obsessing over a single deadfall. But... it's twitching ... as though it has... epilepsy .... That would have to be one HELL of a gran mal seizure to last beyond death. (but I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for it, right? somewhere in T...

Re: Learning Japanese.... Who is into it?
More masochistic than English's enormous vocabulary? Hmm, I never considered that english had a larger vocabulary than any other language. But it is kind of a "tar-baby"; english tends to stick to all other languages it comes into contact with and leaves pieces of itself while picking up all kinds ...

Re: Cool story bro: bionic limbs one step closer.
What would be really interesting is how good his sense of touch with this mechanic hand is or did they just concentrate on imitating the flexibility of a real hand like the video described? Well, video easily shows motion but can't convey a sense of touch. They can only describe it verbaly, but unl...

Cool that it has feedback to the user, but it is still a experimental prototype. It needs to be made into a wearable prosthetic device before I get excited about it.
