Re: Japanese invasion
It's incredible how a word that basically means "outside person" can be deemed pejorative. The media is full of prissies around the globe it seems. It isn't the exact words that make an insult. I can stand in front of a guy and call him a "fine, upstanding person" with a sneer on my lips, venom in ...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
Maybe KS will have the effect of making some commercial production companies raise the bar on quality for their stories and the tech they use in producing them. Or at least get the consumers asking themselves why they are paying so much for not such great stuff in return. I don't know if KS will ha...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
I agree with you that Hanako, relative to the other girls, may seem a bit 'better off'... but I think that (as the full version will show) that her disability affects both the realms of physical health and mental health i.e she will probably have the greatest difficulty in the task of leaving Yamak...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
Then again maybe the final release of KS will trigger the Apocalypse... So you're saying my prediction of a 2012 release date might be correct. Nah, really they already finished it months ago; burned it to CD and buried it in a time capsule that will be opened in 20 years. Just to mess wi...

Re: Hanako's disability is "cheap"?
...Hmmm. I have a feeling that I was awfully confusing there. I hope you managed to understand what I am trying to say. I love the character, but this aspect of her is troubling me(Or at least that cruel, perverted part of my mind that demands that all of my cripple girls to be equally damaged O_O)...

Re: Is katawa Shoujo the gateway drug of visual novels?
Actually, noticing that KS with all of its problems and limitations and people who have never done this before and zero budget and almost stock settings and characters is actually a semi-decent VN in comparison to the grand scheme is a pretty grim realization for the medium as a whole. More of a co...

Re: Misha's Future?
is anybody else hoping for a secret enging for misha? it could be like after getting close to shizune, you should be able to choose between them. i would actually prefer misha to shizune. One problem, it ain't going to happen. Unless the devs have been lying to us the whole time. *hint, hint* Ah, I...

Rin in a tin bin would fit wonderfully next to that picture. No. Just no. I've done enough with Rin in a Bin already. Considering the fact that I was the one who started the Rin in a Bin thing. Goddamn Rin in a Bin, the second you think it's died out someone mentions it and it comes back full power...

Re: Japanese invasion
There's a list of Japanese comments on KS here (with links to the original blog entries). Here is a google mistranslation. I burst out laughing when I saw this characterization of Misha in a synopsis of the girls in one of the translated links... The following ... So we meet girls with disabilities...
