Emi Ibarazaki—Winding Down the Discussion
One thing I've observed so far is that Emi seems to dominate scenes where she is the focus. Other characters become caricatures that are more peripheral than usual. Perhaps it's her intensity and enthusiasm for life; perhaps it's just my wonky perception. Whether it's Dark Emi or Bright Emi, she jus...

Re: Blooper Reel
Entertaining, but Nakamichi makes headphones; Shizune's dad is Hakamichi.BlackDuke wrote:Some things I concocted - and no, Shizune's route is NOT my favourite...![]()

A Left Eye of Darkness ('Foundation' up 20160414)
Editor's Note: This piece is the first part in a triptych of interviews. I shall call it the Foundation trilogy, from a favourite author. (N., Osaka 2042) Estimation is an art, but a solid foundation is always a good thing. Foundation (2034) I do not know when it all began, but it is now commonplac...

Interlude (20160412)
Clink. Click. Tap. I'm nudged back into consciousness at my desk by an odd combination of sounds. A thin film of old whisky sits in the bottom of my tumbler, where the amber light shimmers, twinkles, blinks. A strangely aromatic and elusive scent wafts its way past my nostrils, which flare reflexive...

Re: After the Dream—Lilly's Arc/'Testament' (Complete)
Hahahaha, holy shit. This is positively delightful. xD My experience being stranded in Bumfuck, Indiana for half a week has been immortalized in ficlet form. Of all the life experiences I've ever gone through... My pleasure. :) I did try to redact some of the more personal details in the orig...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
There was some inbreeding among Lilly's and Shizune's ancestors, several generations back. Let's face it: Cousins born within a year of each other, and both with a significant disability? Something's wrong with that family's genetics, somewhere. Haha, I thought so too. It's one of the threads in 'A...

Re: Good Experience Nearly Ruined At the End
I think that you get that ending only if you fail to commit to any of the other possible commitments (haha, committees?) — it's an interesting lesson, if a shocking one. Glad you survived it and persevered!

This is based on a real-life experience. Really. Details have been changed to protect the innocent. Sort of. :D It occurs to me, as I sit at this incredibly boring and digressive meeting, that I could be doing something better. In fact, my thoughts transgress time and space and reality in a moment,...

Re: Regrets - A Post-Bad End Musing
It's interesting (and will likely continue to be interesting) to compare your writing with some of the other ghost stories we've had so far. Megumeru wrote one about Shizune [ LINK ], and FluffandCrunch wrote one about Saki [ LINK ], both with live-Hisao as protagonist. There's the short story I wro...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Presenting: Emi Ibarazaki)
A Wedding With Lilly I have to concur with the sentiment that this could pass for a Developments epilogue. I got the impression that it was a bait-and-switch piece (that title though), but it was still really nice. For as small as it is, it tells an awful lot, I think. That indeed seems to be the c...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Presenting: Emi Ibarazaki)
Hmmm. I think of Emi as the anti-Lilly. (In my mind it's also Hanako v Misha and Rin v Shizune.) It's not that they're totally different, but that they would actually find it easy to hate each other.Hoitash wrote:And maybe a little Prejudice because of her crack at Lilly in her route about being a half-breed.

Poor Hisao. As if his heart hasn't been messed around with enough, as it is.
