Re: Birthday!
Hell, I'd almost say that their phones might place it in 2001 , but I don't think external displays were a thing back then. Yeah, the phone graphics are a bit inconsistent. You're right: 2001 is too early, 2012 too late. No choice left, considering the textual day/date material—it's Monday 4 June 2...

Re: Birthday!
Since Hanako's birthday, 10 July, falls on a Tuesday that year, it must be either 2007 or 2012. Given the tech levels and other indicators (see research summary here), it's certainly 2007 when Hisao starts school at Yamaku, and 2008 when he graduates (since they graduate in March).

Re: Have Your Parents ever Confronted You about Katawa Shouj
My parents are of the generation who remember the Japanese Empire and their attempted control of the 'Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere'. Since my mother taught in a Japanese school for 30 years, she just laughed and shook her head. My father, as a historian of the transition from colonial 'lo...

Re: Favourite artworks - reprise.
Maybe it's "They don't know I'm so afraid"? After all, the 'AFRAID' part is not where a casual observer would see it. Or, it could be "I'm so afraid they don't know," which would be much more interesting to ponder :D. That makes sense, because the burns/scars are on the left hand side of her body, ...

Re: Favourite artworks - reprise.
Why is the alphabet in Hanako's burn scars? Ruins it... They say "They don't know" and "I'm so Afraid". I call the "They don't know" bullshit though because of how obvious her fucking scars are. Maybe it's "They don't know I'm so afraid"? After all, the 'AFRAID' part is not where a casual observer ...

Interlude (20140710)
"Happy birthday!" I say to her. She smiles, a faint tracery of wrinkles suffusing her fine, thin skin. This is Hanako Ikezawa in her forties, I guess. She's in a fawn jacket and a long leather skirt, her long hair unbound. "Hello, colleague. I see you've been busy. Is that Kenji behaving himself, or...

Re: Favourite artworks - reprise.
The word 'AFRAID' is in her burn scars. That's the point of 'I'm so afraid'. It's like a literal representation of idioms like 'I can see it written on your face'.Req wrote:probably same reason why her hair has 'they don't know' written in it.Potato wrote:Why is the alphabet in Hanako's burn scars? “Kenji-san, can we talk?” ... “Ah, yes, Naomi-san. We can talk.” This is why it is sometimes a bad idea to use honorifics in English language stories. At this point Kenij and Naomi are long past the point where they would use honorifics. Then one week later Naomi seems to have dropped the honorific...

Well, I'm a bit of an avid chess player (not great at it, mind), so a set of KS-themed chess pieces wouldn't go amiss. how would you imagine those?:) You know, that's something I would actually get behind. King would be Hisao Obviously Queen may as well be Emi On account of movement skills and best...

Haha… if anything, Mutou's story is closest to my heart. But it took me months to get into Kenji's head. He is very adept at hiding things!Serviam wrote:Why do I get the feeling that Kenji's origin story has no fourth wall?

Some of us are under a spell. We need to do it in 'ecstasy'.Munchenhausen wrote:Someone, somewhere, is currently fantasising about Hanako's stuttered moans as she digs her nails into their back in lustful ecstacy. Whimpering for more under the weight of his hips.

Sakura—The Kenji Saga (Part 1-4a up 20140709)
This is the first section of the fourth instalment of the first part of the redacted archive of Kenji Setou. In which he finds love of a kind and starts a new life at Kyoto University ('Kyodai'). Kenji: Five Years That Break A Man—Year Four (Part 1) (20080331-20080727) This is the log of Kenji Seto...
