Re: Adaptive technology

Essentially, it's an adjustable pair of glasses. Might help Kenji some, at least. Hmmm, this centre just opened in Singapore, of all places. It's a whole low-vision support package — tech, methods, training, etc. Founded by an eye surgeon and her neurosurgeon husband… "What the centre does is to fi...

Re: AtD Basic Chronology (Some Spoilers)

-Chronology- For some reason, I'm tempted to list causes of death for each individual... I might do that after I'm finished. And then bury it a bit so that people don't get spoilerised. :) I do update that list now and then as characters unspoiler themselves. Just added Suzu and company to my perso...

Re: Types of emotional reactions to KS

Replaying Lilly's route, just before Hisao went to sleep after 'Paint By Numbers', he had this thought: "Emi won't care either way, I bet (as to whether I go for a run or not)." I felt sad for a while there. She probably won't. It's not like they ever connected in Lilly's route. But they do have so...

Interlude (20140906)

Like a mermaid, the other guy said. When I see her sitting on the edge of my desk, I can almost believe it. She has this habit of hooking her right ankle behind her left, like a fishtail. "Hello, Ms Suzuki," I say softly. She opens one eye, the rest of her still twitching to the beat of some interna...

Re: Straw—A Dream of Suzu (Part 1a up 20140905)

omgyissss. I like it. The perspective switches are cool, and I can't help but be happy when Suzu's being a nerd. She's not only a nerd, but a rather... errm... interesting one. :) It took me a moment to realize that Calpurnia/Mori was Molly. Which in retrospect, makes sense. Suzu's got this habit o...

Re: Iwanako: Mean Time to Breakdown {UPDATED 2014-9-5!}

Cruelty is making someone read tens of thousands of words early in the morning when there's a lot of work on the back burner. The compensatory kindness is to make what was good beautiful—and what was appealing, magnetic. I found Iwanako's stay in hospital to be the catalytic transformation so belove...

Re: After HighSchool (Follows Hanako's Good ending)

I-if you're not happy there it could make things worse. M-maybe if y-you... um t-talk more on the phone & visit each other on brakes... It would be easier. I've read that argument somewhere before and it was even the same person who was making it. I think the whole piece is a translation from...

Straw—A Dream of Suzu (Bk2-6c up 20180524)

It's hard to say when this sequence first came to light. The files had been patched and overwritten several times, and their source was not very clear about times and dates and places. But I finally pried the thumbarray from his cold dead hand (just kidding) and here it is, one piece at a time, as ...

Hey! That's a terrible thing to say! This was an excellent chapter, and nobody's died yet! :) (Analysis to follow.)

Edit: I think I'll wait for Chapter 50. :)

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

The guy who sits between Suzu and Molly actually hacked into the yearbook files with Kenji's help and changed some of his classmates' names. 'Lezard Valeth' and others are actually pseudonyms. And the person who assigned the pseudonyms was none other than Suzu herself.

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

Saki learns about Forum Shounen . She says, "Oh well," and begins writing a soaring, beautiful fanfic about characters named 'Dewelar', 'Helbereth', and 'Leaty', with many others beside. As interest mounts, the thread gets three hundred hits a day and the servers need upgrading. And then one day… th...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

Now I know why I think there are at least five classes in each level. We know there are four classrooms on one side of the corridor, 3-1 to 3-4. But in Shizune's route, after they observe Misha taking supplementary lessons, they sneak into the classroom directly across the hallway. So there's at lea...

Re: You have been playing too much KS when...

… I found Hisao in a Menya Musashi restaurant having lunch with Shizune. She had white-soup chashu ramen and curry ika on the side; he had red-soup chashu ramen and gyoza on the side. Both were having houji tea. They shared macha pancakes and a Hokkaido milk pudding for dessert. Then I realised the ...
