Re: Random KS Discussion
That will be Misha's handicap: can't cast an offensive spell to save her life. Hah, good point. But she can materialize a parfait like no other! I would imagine that Rin would have problems with 'traditional' spell casting gestures But she could do amazing things given an hour and a flat surface fo...

Re: Random KS Discussion
Lily's spells being flashy and Shizune's spells being loud: more cat-clawing fodder. Also, Rin casting spells by mistake whenever she goes off-tangent in her conversations. Ha, the Lily/Shizune bit reminds me of the one and only 'fight scene' in KS. The Rin one reminds me of Neil Gaiman's Delirium,...

It's the centenary of 'The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock', did you know?inthewind wrote:I've lost count of all the T.S. Eliot references in your works by now.
Edit: also, apparently, the centenary of the word 'bullshit' as a literary term. [LINK]

Re: The "feels" bazaar.
That said, thank you for reading . I can now wander somewhere in this new forum for me. Welcome aboard! Yeah, the Emi bit hurts even now - I'm playing it through again for the first time in about 8 months and although it's not quite like it was first time round (it never can be) it's still decidedl...

Re: Random KS Discussion
This comment made me think what a school for the handicapped might be in a magical-girl world. Maybe some of the handicaps would be magic ones. Like, whenever Kamisa tries to cast Thunderbolt, it just squirts a mess of vanilla pudding instead and she feels a little itchy. That's interesting food fo...

Re: Random KS Discussion
Holy handicaps, I just finished the scene where Kenji takes off his glasses and now I'm at 54% completion. That means that a year and a half after beginning, I'm now officially more than halfway done. Achievement Unlocked That scene where he takes off his glasses is a defining moment. It is the poi...

Re: Do I want to see the bad/neutral endings?
Yeah because you're not a PUSSY. You can handle them, because you're a BOSS. If you can overcome the bad ends in Katawa Shoujo, you're ready to tackle any challenge in life. I believe in you. I so seldom see Aura out of the 'Ask' thread that I am overwhelmed by sensations of actually being a BOSS a...

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
I recognize that there are principles involved that likely contradict this and it's always good to work towards an idealistic world, but the problem is that in the real current world people don't care, so shouting about changing the way they talk isn't gonna do jack. Might as well tell them to stop...

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
Assuming a scenario ever arises where noting their condition is relevant to discussion in the first place, I call them crippled because that is the reality of their condition. I call myself a cripple too so at the least I can't be called a hypocrite. Now, if they decide a mere observation of their ...

And Brythain, I doubt your cake was much worse than mine. :) It is with great and sorrowful regret that I inform you of my crime: I mixed ingredients into a paste, shoved them into a mug, and microwaved till it puffed up. Cake. Didn't taste bad. Looked like a Hiroshima joke of the type that should ...

Re: Recommend a VN
Spunky, you should try out "Analogue: A Hate Story" it's the sequel and it's better, in my opnion. Yes! Excellent story, and there's even a sequel where you get to bake a cake. Mine was pretty ugly. ;D Edit: Oh no, Jack... there's even a connection between that nearly-cooked terminology thread and ...

Kinda impressive otherwise that things lasted this long without degenerating majorly (and to a degree of pointlessness I'm probably not culturally equipped to understand, but hey).

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
Hey, if they're dead-set on creating and popularizing a powerful slur against themselves, I'm in no position to stop them. But I can certainly sit here and shake my head at how ass-backward it is. Especially when they then turn around and say that other people can't use it based on their skin color...
