Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
Basically: I call a mute person "mute". They have two options: 1) Accept that they are, in fact, mute and it is no way an offense to observe this fact. This defuses the entire issue, everybody wins. 2) Stay upset despite this fact. This accomplishes two things: It restricts my own usage of the lang...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club
Welcome to the club! It's good that you've taken something away from your KS sessions. On the subject of emotions, I was in my teenage years when I had an epiphany about leaving the crowd behind and just be myself, doing what I like and not giving a damn about what others will say. I also learnt th...

Re: Katawa Und Panzer
How about something that's not German? Those have a tendency to catch on fire and I doubt Hanako would enjoy that Put Hanako in a Challenger 2 or an Abrams and she'll be good. Those mofo's can take dozens of RPG's and just be like "meh" For Hanako, maybe the mere thought of being under fire would b...

I suspect a guy stuck in a hospital bed in early 2007 might decide, "Heck, let's finally go for all the possible endings in that long and convoluted thing that all my friends seemed to think was good..."Serviam wrote:I presume it was Fate/stay night?

Re: After the Dream—Hanako's Arc (Complete)
Nicely done. I think this is one of the better “After” stories. While the idea that all these characters lives around each other and they never met anyone else as important comes across as forced in some of the other stories, it fits for Hanako. I also like how you've managed to make her much more ...

Re: After the Dream—Lilly's Arc (Complete)
It's not very good. I'm sorry. It is by FAR the weakest section of your multi-story story. So far it's the only one I've read that isn't told directly from a characters point of view or even their memories and the lack of inner monologue really hurts it. I just never get a feeling for how she's tak...

Re: Random KS Discussion
We really do tend to forget that they are still teenagers, despite their disabilities, and some of those behaviour is typical of girls their age. Yeah, it's weird... the story seems so much "bigger" than teenage romance, doesn't it? If you wonder about them as adults, the story gets so big it can b...

Interlude (20150117)
The man with the messy brown hair looks at me. In some ways, he and I share many things. We are like imperfect splinters of each other's mind's eye. Without preamble, he begins, an oddly regretful half-smile on his haggard face. ***** "I spent my time in hospital playing through a long and convolute...
