Re: You have been playing too much KS when...
I've taught myself to impressively click my fingers (and every time think of a certain Student Council President) I do this very same thing every time something suddenly occurs to me xD Haha, I did this in class the other day, and one of my students looked up and went, "Man, that was very... impres...

Re: The problem with Shizune
I love Shizune. And her seemingly random H-scenes are her attempt to break the barrier between herself and someone else, without the use of hearing or speech, and without losing control. If she is successful, it is the way to a better Shizune; if she is not, it is sad all round, with the sense of wh...

Yes! Like many fanfic authors, I keep meticulous tabs on how many students there are at Yamaku, by class and year.Steinherz wrote:That one is clever, and does make sense
I also keep seating plans and dossiers on each one.

Re: Random KS Discussion
Today Emi jumped up on the counter and came over for a scratch and a nuzzle. She let me give her a back rub and we had a good time together.
Yes, I've been feeling that sense of strangeness that comes when the vet's pet cat is named Emi, and she's a big grey one with lovely green eyes.

Re: Another World (Post Lilly's Good Ending) (Complete)
The first part, about Hanako and her relationships with the friends she's kept from Yamaku days, is nice and sweet. The part where she plays Katawa Shounen is something that doesn't go well with the first part, although you can try to make it fit. I think it's because the first part seems natural an...

After the Dream—Akiko Nakai (Letter dated 06 May 2040)
Akiko Ibarazaki A Letter to Mother (Sunday 6 May 2040) To my most honourable mother, who is no longer with me and who was a wonderful parent: Greetings from your beloved daughter, who is named Akiko because she is like fire but also a girl. Dearest Mother, I have written many incomplete letters to ...

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
I'd say that the key finding is that a significant population in the Anglophone world does find it derogatory and/or offensive. Where did you get that, exactly? From all those sources, there must be some fairly large population in the English-speaking world that to various extents finds the word so...

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
It really depends on whether or not the person with the speech disorder talks or not. If they talk but it's disrupted, then they're not mute. If they choose not to talk because of their speech disorder or their speech disorder causes them to be unable to talk, then they're mute. In regards to the p...

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
Straight from wikipedia, although I'm sure it's detailed in many places the same way: Speech disorders or speech impediments are a type of communication disorder where 'normal' speech is disrupted. This can mean stuttering, lisps, etc. Someone who is unable to speak due to a speech disorder is cons...

Re: Terminology debate - "mute" versus "voice-off"
I only read from the links you provided, but "person without speech" is preferred over "mute" because in the link you provided is in reference to people with speech disorders and not people who can't/won't talk, so using "mute" would be inaccurate. Well, then you should only use 'mute' for people w...
