Re: Lost in Translation - A Shizune Prequel
Ooh. Delicious. I like the Shizune internal voice you've got going here, and I'm looking forward to how it transforms into the one we know and love (or not, as the case may be).

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
[...]See? I can do gritty urban dystopia with fantasy tropes too. :D We're not so different, you and I ;) Must be something to do with being Brit. Now all I have to do is figure out a story in which there's this wheezing groaning sound and Mutou appears on their doorstep to offer them a strange bar...

Re: Alt Dreams [One-Shots] (18—'Bear & Fire') (20150318)
Slowly but surely I'm reading all of your works, Brythain. As always, your writing style is surreal and intriguing, and every story captivated my interest with little effort. I feel not as though I'm reading, but moreso that I'm floating in an ether and watching your stories unfold before my very e...

Re: Cowlick and Claws!
It's an amazingly entertaining read so far! I mean, they're 'installments', not 'installations', and minor things like that (e.g. 'brown hair', not 'brunette hair)... but I'm still able to ignore all that and have fun imagining what your characters are doing. Very amusing portrayals, and now I'm won...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
Okay, let's move away from Syria and the horrible attrocities of life and on to sounder, more pleasant things. My headcanon is that Rin's art takes off for a few years, but eventually stops selling. She and Hisao live in a grimy apartment somewhere in the city. Rin keeps asking why she can't paint ...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
For it to qualify as headcanon, it must be canon in your head, yes? So when people start imagining Hanako roasting in a cage, that's really screwed up.

Re: Alt Dreams [One-Shots] (18—'Bear & Fire') (20150318)
It's just a shame things couldn't work out between Meiko and Jigoro, because the fallout from that could be quite interesting, not to mention hilarious (Hell hath no fury like a Shizune that is forced to become stepsister to an Emi). Haha, I actually sketched out the events of the missing year in t...

... you inquire after Emi at the vet and the receptionist says, "Oh, Emi is in the office spending time with the nurse," and you get these mushy squishy feelings inside.
(Yeah, this is Emi the green-eyed cat who hangs out at the local vet clinic.)

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
I can't imagine Hanako would do very well with some poor kid who had been abused since birth. There was actually a Hanako epilogue written like three or four years ago where Hanako becomes a counselor to abused children. There's a lot I dislike about that fic--for one thing, it is glurgy as fuuuuuu...

Alt Dreams [One-Shots] (18—'Bear & Fire') (20150318)
Sometimes, the strangest ideas come forth from the oddest juxtapositions of material... A Bear Discovers Fire being an excerpt from the secret sections of ‘The Autobiography of Hakamichi Jigoro’ (2008 Edition) My name is Hakamichi Jigoro, and I am writing this in ink, using the traditional style. T...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
Also if Hanako can't safely go through pregnancy there is one other option I can see her and Hisao considering if they want a child. Adoption. You say that as if there are loads of other options  One thing they'd need to keep in mind is how difficult foster children can be. I can understand wh...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread
Until I read it in this thread I did not know there was a sizable population of people of Indian descent in Japan. I assumed that she was an exchange student. So I may be wrong. Doesn't stop Kenji from thinking that though. While there may be roughly 1000 Indians in Kobe, there are also 1.5m people...
