Yes, they do, in a way. More accurate, they sing it before the flag. I've experienced the singing of the 'Kimigayo' at first hand at school functions.Mirage_GSM wrote:Do they do that in Japan? We sing to the flag

It was certainly Mutou who taught him how to bowl. Look carefully at Mutou, and you can see how he's definitely the teacher in charge of the Bowling Club.Eurobeatjester wrote:"Cousin Hee-sow, let's go bowling!"

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting 14/15 May 2015 in progress)
Perhaps 1 July begins the run-up? Then we can do Jul-Aug-Sep, Oct-Nov-Dec quarters.Oddball wrote:If we're going to do the super long route stuff, I'd recommend posting a starting date way in advance and then continuing to run the smaller one-shots up until that point.

Acting chairman's proposal (dated 18 May 2015)
Perhaps building on the suggestions so far, we could do something like this: I'll attempt to clear my suggestion queue and add to it by proposing one long fic and a range of related fics for a quarter. Discussion begins a week or two into the quarter, using any of the fics that readers may have read...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting 14/15 May 2015 onwards)
You could also revisit old fics, although obviously that's not preferable to some long-time residents. There are quite a few new members floating around, after all. Or suggest your own stuff. Because honestly, we could dedicate the club to your fics exclusively, and still not cover half of it. Haha...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting 14/15 May 2015 onwards)
Are there any other mental rules that people have when choosing what to read next? (Apart from the most-recently-updated tendency, that is.) My aim when submitting suggestions has been to pick stories that featured characters and/or genres that were either un- or under-represented in what had been ...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting 14/15 May 2015 onwards)
Well, at least I'm seeing strong reactions. :D I would love to have YBC discussions on really long fics, but their very length tends to cut the readership down. Breaking them up into shorter chunks doesn't work for some other people. Are there any other mental rules that people have when choosing wh...

Sakura—The Kenji Saga (Part 4-4a up 20150515)
This is the eighth section of the fourth part of the redacted archive of Kenji Setou. In which Kenji revisits the past a lot. Kenji 4: The World Turned Upside-Down (May-August 2023) Some day, when I am no longer working, which will be never, people might ask me about Shizune. Was she fierce? Was sh...

Re: All The World's A Stage (One Shot)
Your ability to juxtapose metaphors, images and natty turns of phrase does not fail to amuse and please. If that were all, I'd be mightily entertained. However, this staging of one of the greatest KS moments ever is very cathedral like; it reminds me that sometimes you can indeed gild the lily, so t...

I like where that first one is going... (Also, the expressions are perfect.) As for the second one: What the hell brand of modeling glue does he use? I could use glue that strong. Superglue sticks flesh to hilt-wrapping very well. Do you know this from personal experience? Actually, skin to twine, ...

Funny you should say that. [This] is what appeared in the Random KS Discussion thread some months ago during the Scottish independence referendum.Alpacalypse wrote:Not sure myself, but I'd wager that Akira would be SNP.

Re: KS lookalikes
I was just looking at Mike Fahey's review of the first 5 minutes of Dex (cyberpunk game etc, just appearing) when I realised that the protagonist looks exactly like Suzu as I've been imagining her in my Suzu fan fiction.
