Re: The Benefit of Hindsight (updated 5/26!)

I always have a blast with Kenji. Some authors have him and blasts together too. I can't wait to find out more. Those nefarious feminists!

Good job.

Re: Alt Dreams [One-Shots] (23—'Slowly') (20150520)

The nanobiotechnology arc, although some people might not like it, seems to me to be something that will be part of human life by the end of this century. I managed to get in on the beginning, and I now have former students working in the field. So... well, if you read Rin's arc in 'After The Dream...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting In Progress 25 May 2015)

I like H&AMtF too. I believe part of it actually entered my subconscious and wreaked havoc with AtD. I was wondering, dear members, if I could suggest that, if we are doing clusters based on characters, my sequencing of stories should follow their order of appearance in the VN. That is, Iwanako firs...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting In Progress 25 May 2015)

Well, clearly my foray into the ancient underbelly of KS fanfic has borne low-hanging fruit. There are many others, but one question I'd like to ask is: when is a twist 'fair'? I'm not saying that feeling cheated by a blatant 'it was all a dream' or some such isn't legitimate; I would feel that too,...

Re: Emi Epilogue - Stopping Short (UPDATED 4/8/2015: CHAPTER

That was nice. A little....unexpected, but nice. Reminds me of the Kenji end, in that your choices actually have little to do with the outcome, just the fact that they put you in position for that outcome. The first ending or the second ending? :) Both were quite pleasant, neatly written, very in t...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

In the 3-3 class picture where it says 'Lelouch Lamperouge', it doesn't actually refer to some fictional prince of Britannia or whatever. It refers to something worse: the spawn of Brythain who sat in that classroom and observed everything, and then reported back to his father on everyone. What a ra...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

Wait, doesn't that make it a hermaphrodite? That word is a slur. Please do not use it unless you're describing a plant. It's misleading and inaccurate when used of humans, but I have to say that I first learnt it when I was nine and being taught about earthworm reproduction in primary school.

Re: "She's in Scotland"-- Lilly Post-Neutral End

(It's odd that the Lilly Bad End seems to have become to jumping-off point for, like, a million fics. A shame, I much prefer Hanako's bad end, because the emotional backlash of knowing 'you fucked up' will probably haunt Hisao for years.) It's because Lilly's Bad End is a permanent enough ending th...

Re: Miki: Fragments (Ch.16 Posted 19th May 2015)

So far things are realistic and quite beautiful. Text editing is, yes, a tiny problem. Yamaku is indeed in Sendai, fictionally coterminous with the old Aoba Castle site, according to cpl_crud. Keep going till you get to the end—best advice ever. :)

Re: Ask!

That actually has quite important implications. How so? It would establish that both Lilly and Shizune likely possessed certain attributes in common, and that these attributes may have been fairly consistent. In many Japanese high schools, class reps are chosen for academic superiority and decent a...

Re: The Official KS Headcanon Thread

Kenji thinks of Lilly as a mother figure. She's almost like a madonna to him, actually, an angel of light in the darkness of his classroom.

When he senses Hisao getting interested in or closer to her, he does his utmost to dissuade him by all kinds of peculiar means.

Re: Alt Dreams [One-Shots] (23—'Slowly') (20150520)

You know, you're kind of the crippled fan fiction equivalent of Arthur C. Clarke... That's interesting. So far I've heard Ray Bradbury as well. Quite the honour; thank you! Volume wise he may be more of an Asimov... I think Apacalypse summed up my feelings quite well with slightly confused, but "Na...
