Oh damnit, I meant 2 TB.
This is what happens when you've been up for three days straight trying desperately to recover data without doing more damage.
There is nothing like the emotional rollercoaster of trying to recover a hard drive that crashed for no reason.

Re: The problem with Shizune
To Shizune, Lilly is nice to individuals at the expense of causing inconvenience to the larger group. Standard Japanese mindset, isn't that? Lilly's just been corrupted by Scots... Pretty much. Groupthink wants you to be nice and accommodating without being to extreme about it, as it can be seen as...

Re: Random KS Discussion
During my long recovery, I hated it when people would try to go out of their way to accommodate me like I was made out of glass, and I don't even run marathons. Thank you for fawning over the fact I was able to get out of the hospital bed and make it to the bathroom on my own without needing someone...

THOSE FAIL AS OFTEN AS THE INTERNAL ONESPeorth wrote:Backups backups backups. Go out and get an external harddrive and back everything you can up.
At least for me.
Anyway, picked up a 2 TERABYTE today for cheap. Will be distributing backups on that.

Re: Learning To Fly - A Saki pseudo-route (Update and Art 1/
I recovered as much as I think I can from it. I only got about a third of the directory structure preserved, the rest is all in one gigantic folder with subfolders dependent on type and the names have been screwed up. I feel much better than I did a few days ago. There are some programs I can't even...

"Here's the CG you asked for of Shizune, Hisao, and Misha."
"Um...can we change the text on the front of Misha's shirt?"
"No."

Do I need to have Linux installed on the machine to use that?
EDIT: Also, yay. 20,000 views, and rtil has agreed to let me commission him

What program are you using? I reccomend Recuva, It's free and seems to work at least as well as the paid ones claim to. Recuva doesn't recognize the drive. In fact, nothing does until it's disconnected. That's what's frustrating the hell out of me. Recuva, Active Partition, even Windows Tools all f...

It doesn't look hopeful. I can see the data on the drive, now I just need to get to it. Man, fingers crossed.

After an hour, diskpart finally sees the drive from Startup Repair...The desktop startup repair. I'll know more in a bit hopefully.

Not enough of it.
I shelled out money for a recovery program, but I can't even put the laptop drive into my desktop without it locking up the larger system completely.
Not to mention the hundreds of gigs that are on that drive.
Just went tits up with no warning.

$&@! me.
My laptop hard drive crashed. I lost about a hundred pages of notes, research, and unfinished writing.
The hard drive decided to switch from NTSF to RAW data format. I don't know if I can recover anything from it.

I really do enjoy commissioning artwork. I update this story so infrequently that it's not a big hit to my wallet, and it really helps motivate me to finish the scenes in question. Plus I get to help out some amazing artists
