Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Terror in the Night!)
This is another one of those "well-written, not my cup of tea" stories. Hoitash is very good at those :) . I will say that I did enjoy the first two chapters, where we get a small glimpse into the family lives of the characters. After that...well, I had a harder time suspending my disbelief and feel...

Re: A Birthday Wish (Saki/Rika)
Very nice. It would have been nicer if I could have gotten "the cake is a lie" out of my head, but that's only a criticism if it was intentional . It did pop into my head, but it was during the second round of edits and not while writing it. That joke stopped being funny about fifteen minutes...

Re: Can You Confront the Past? - Post-Hanako Good Ending
Google says this story was originally posted on fanfiction.net last year. Perhaps that's what he's thinking of? Alright so to give some explanation, I had originally written this for FanFiction.Net until it was suggested to me that I post it here. So here I am! Hello all, how are ya doing? Jesus fl...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: Apologies to Harlan Ellis
I will sit this one out as well. I've...pretty much had my fill of Doomish's old stuff for one lifetime.

Re: AtD—Akira's Arc (Part 6 up 20140514)
Shizune stares at us. I wonder what she sees, framed against the setting sun as her elite guardsmen begin to lower the coffin into the grave. Three women, who all loved one man—one gave him up, one won him, and one chose not to try. Does my cousin know? She seems to know everything. It will otherwi...

Re: Endorphin Rush - An Emilogue (UPDATED 5/10/14)
I'm guessing the reason Emi isn't over there yelling at you for calling her "plain vanilla" is that she's over here yelling at me to do it. Not that I'm complaining... Emi is over here asking me if I want chocolate or caramel sauce on my plain vanilla. It is very distracting. :D Ah, Fastest ...

Re: Endorphin Rush - An Emilogue (UPDATED 5/10/14)
That said, how interesting you can make Emi may depend on how well you respond in general to the question, "How much sympathy or empathy can I develop for plain vanilla people who suddenly experience trauma or who have trauma thrust upon them?" :) I'm guessing the reason Emi isn't over there yellin...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Now Reading: After the Dream: Rin's St
Sorry I haven't really participated this week, but I haven't found myself with much for comments beyond what's already been said and what I posted in the story thread when it was posted a few weeks ago. However, I have found that I do want to expand my thoughts on the Rin-Miki relationship. The reas...

Re: AtD—Akira's Arc (Part 3 up 20140512)
Thinking about what you said in JohnnyTruant's thread about Emi being vanilla...I find it interesting that Akira seems to be the most vanilla of the characters in this story. I'm not saying it isn't appropriate, because it is, I'm just making a note of it :) . However, I mostly had to post because o...

Re: Endorphin Rush - An Emilogue (UPDATED 5/10/14)
I think that may be a person to person thing. Everyone finds something difficult someone may find easy, like for me I find shizune easy and emi difficult. It also depends on what you're doing with the characters. For instance, among the characters I've worked with, Emi's PoV is the easiest (or, per...

Re: Endorphin Rush - An Emilogue (UPDATED 5/10/14)
It's not just Emi-logues. There just aren't a whole lot of good Emi stories out there, period. Fewer than any of the other girls, I'd wager.

And yes, I know how paragraphs are structured, you don't need to tell me. You just made it sound like a formula rather than "make it flow better". Ah, okay. Was it the "seven line breaks" thing? That was just meant to show that you didn't need to take more time if you double-space the paragr...
