the implication that Hanako improved even more in Lilly's arc while Hisao was somebody else's problem. We don't know that, though. Hanako's own route ends before Lilly ever even gets back from Scotland. Had the story continued, Hanako might have improved better/faster than she does on Lilly's route.

Huh. How do I put this lightly... It would be a bowdlerized travesty. I'd rather not watch it period than to cut out major plot points simply because they upset me. Well, there you have it. Similarly, avoiding KS's bad-ends is the same kinda deal. As is turning off the H-scenes. Or, say, force-skip...

Some analogies were drawn regarding Game Of Thrones. What if someone offered you an edited version of the show where no one dies? Would that be a better, more desirable show? Or would it be a bowdlerized travesty?

Next, same questions, but now substitute a random Shakespeare play.

For me, it's as simple as this: you read all the endings because they're part of the game. How can you say you've "finished" a game where you skipped certain levels? Or a novel where you skipped certain chapters? You might have gotten to the end, but you didn't complete them.
