Personally, I think it will be the college/university days that make / break her. It is likely to set the tone on how she'll work in her working days. At least in university, people are busy either mugging or partying. Not much petty bullying there.

The combative trait is something I don't identify with as well, but at least Shizune acknowledged that she wants help in toning it down.

On a more serious note, giving them a shakedown ala Dr. Casey's dad. Speak a language they can understand.

"Mom, the guys at school teased me that I have a mom who looks like bacon."
"... Leave this to me."

Cue Hanako at the schoolyard going Baconator on the bullies.

In the Bad End, Hanako did say that she hated Lily and Hisao. But, the tearful face right before she closes the door shouts to me that she doesn't mean what she said.

Shizune's is rather high on the emotional abuse. But, she's stubborn, Jigoro is stubborn, and I think generally people shake their heads at this father-daughter pair rather than cry abuse.

That will depend on how much Lily is willing to depend on Hanako. One thing that probably irks Lily the most is to be "helpless" and needing the help of others.

Cue the debate on whether Shizune should be voiced in the first place.
