Something interesting concepts. Not a bad read.
@griffon: You ever thought of a second go at the stories, modifying according to full canon? Something unexpected might come out of it.

Re: Dissapointed with Hanako's Arc
Hanako has to recognise that good things can happen to her, and she can appreciate that. When bad stuff comes, just prepare the venom/steel needed to speak the language the fellow recognises, if the fellow sneers at good intentions.

Without her shyness, she'll be more of silk hiding steel.

Nothing against Jesus, but I try not to quote from religion. I subscribe to Jesus was Way Cool, and Kung Fu Jesus.
Anyway, Dr Frankl's quote I was thinking of is about how no man should judge others unless he has thought long and hard about what he would have done in the same situation.

It would be better that the landmines actually blow up. The panic attacks and depression end up flying over people's heads.
Also, Hisao is still coddling her to the extent that he wouldn't even consider the poke.

Well, I mean the intensity of the burns, not the extent/coverage, as you mentioned.

Now, I'm jogging/walking first thing in the morning, if there's no work and the weather permits. Get it done and out of the way quickly.

Re: Dissapointed with Hanako's Arc
Unlike most likers of her route, I'm actually more in favour of her rising to the challenge. As such, I'm one of those who are likely to poke her into asserting herself. As such, the H-scene was no big deal.

Dr. Viktor Frankl had a valuable line for a situation like this, but I do not have his Man's Search For Meaning with me now.

Also, note that this is close to the immediate aftermath of the accident. For all we know, Hanako may have looked like that soon after the accident.

I think it's more of reading up, Keiichi.
For starters, most Japanese do live in cities/megalopolis, where space is limited. With limitations on space, cremation is the choice when it comes to laying the dead to rest.
