I'd say he's got far more personality than most of his type.
He definitely has more personality than most.
He's still a bit dense, but that's because he has to be because of plot reasons.

You sure the Nurse wasn't just bugging Meiko about making sure Emi doesn't over-exert/hurt herself?

So are Hisao and Meiko.
They're in JAPAN. Age of consent is 14 over there.
They're both well over it

Re: The wrong reaction to a grave mistake.

Right, a guy who's 18 with a woman who's at least 37? Unless you want to go the "Oops" way and say Emi was born when she was 15... and even that makes her 34. 34! Well, she is pretty hot but still. Well Emi is 19 and doesn't look it at all  Also, there's the fact that Meiko is an utter M...

Re: The wrong reaction to a grave mistake.

Speaking about Meiko, am I the only person here who was tempted to write fanfiction for her? I really felt bad for her. Emi lost her father, but Meiko lost her best friend and lover. If my connect the dots ability for writing was any good, I'd have written a story and given it multiple endings just...

By the way, Guest Poster, I love you. You always ask the difficult questions and point out the stuff no one else does. Probably by accident half the time. I have my own interpretation of Lilly's family and the stuff about the company is stuff I looked up and speculated on myself in the past, ...

In other words, he likely figured it out, but didn't want to say it because he could have been wrong.

I Call Him "Mister Happy": Aiko calls her breasts "Masa" and "Mune".
PFFFFT! That still makes me giggle.
Unusual Euphemism: "Happy valley" as a term for female genitalia.
Eh, I've seen weirder Euphemisms.

Also, added it to the FanficRecs page too.

Well if he figured it out early on, there wouldn't be as much impact at the end now would there. Actually there's a very good chance he figured out the connection between Emi's legs and her father's death earlier than everyone thinks. Hisao doesn't seem to surprised when Emi takes him to a graveyar...

He's the protagonist of an Eroge-ish Visual Novel. Being surprisingly skilled in the carnal pleasures despite being a virgin comes naturally to them.

A bit late to the discussion, but on the topic of whether or not Hisao and Hanako could reconcile their differences after Hanako's bad end: They could, but keep in mind this is Hisao we're talking about- in other words, he's doomed. Oh, and on the suicide thing that I posted- I'm not sure if ...
