Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I've been lazy with my exercise for the past few weeks (incredibly busy otherwise, but that's a lame excuse), but I'm getting back to it tonight after class. Also, I got on the scale for the first time in several weeks and it's good news - I'm down another 6 lbs.! I haven't been perfect with my eati...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

status update Dude, I am super happy to hear that. It's a monumental undertaking and you're doing a kick-ass job. Keep up the excellent work! For the loose skin, it really depends on your build. When you lose a -lot- of weight in a short enough period of time, your body can and will end up with exc...

I'm more inclined to blame the fact that I'm 100+ lbs. overweight. :P

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

If you're just beginning with running, maybe it's a good idea to focus on your breathing and trying to steady it. I would hope that someone is capable of regulating their breathing while listening to music as well... unless we're dealing with a blonde, I suppose... Personally, I hate running withou...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA if I have lost any weight yet, nor do I notice any change in size in my overall body. Yeah, you won't notice changes right away. In fact, you will be hard-pressed to REALLY notice changes ever, at least psychologically. Personally, I've lost 50 lbs. since my heaviest and w...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

"There's someone for everyone" is just something people who have someone say so they don't have to feel bad for or help those of us who are alone. It's such a knee-jerk thing to say, pretty lame. However, if you subscribe to the opposite "foreveralone" attitude, then you certainl...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I see, strange that my country still uses the BMI system then. I don't really have a personal doctor I go to, aside from the occasional flu ailments, but I don't lift weights nor train rigorously, so I think I should be fine :D http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/health/2013/01/22/bmi-calculator-inacc...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

1. I don't really get the 'runner's high' that Emi and a few other people in this thread have experienced, does it come when you're sprinting or jogging? :o. I've never experienced this either (see: extremely overweight, can't do much more than jog right now without obliterating my knees and shins)...

Re: How are you spreading the word?

I've mentioned it to several friends, but similar to these other users, a lot of times the friends just don't take to it for one reason or another. It's a difficult pitch, because you know it's a great game but it's blocked by a barrier of stigma - you are playing an H-game involving girls with disa...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Anything you'd recommend that's gone well for you? I'm no expert. I know I'm not "them", but I figured I'd chime in with a tip. If you aren't a member of a gym, I might recommend becoming one. The machinery they have is pretty extensive and focuses primarily on working all those muscle gr...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

The most important thing is to give it time. Learn about your body, see how it reacts to your actions and move on from there. Well, my body SUCKS. It needs to get with the program! I've just picked up a big stash of fruits and vegetables designed for juicing. my diet plan as of right now is going t...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Double post ahoy! Just wanted to let you guys know that I passed another milestone, albeit kind of a small one. I jogged for a 1/2 mile straight last night. Took 6 min 50 secs, including a 30 second warm-up walk, and I jogged at 4.5 mph the whole way. Not a terribly impressive time or speed, I know,...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Does anyone here have experience with straight-up liquid or "juicing" diets? I watched a documentary about it (Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead) and the concept intrigued me greatly. It led me to getting a juicer myself, though I didn't plan on doing the "full-on" juicing diet the guys ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I guess I kind of did W1D1 of Emi's Couch to 5k last night. I jogged / walked for 20 minutes. I didn't do exactly according to the plan, but I tried to keep it close-ish: I walked at 3 mph for 1 - 1.5 minutes at a time, then jogged faster with each 1 - 1.5 minute increment. I started at a 4.5 mph jo...
