Re: Operation: Excursion

3) Fast food. Just... no. I used to eat McDonald's, Taco Bell, and whatever else two to three times a week. I cut it back drastically, and since I started my diet I had Taco Bell once (damn Pathfinder group, pressuring me). However, I ordered less than I normally would, I looked up the calories bef...

Re: Who Told You About KS?

Learned of its existence through /a/ several years ago. I didn't want to pick up an incomplete VN, so I didn't play the trial and never took part in the community. Suddenly, on January this year, KS became the flavor of the month on /a/ after it got released. Then I thought, "why not?" and...

Re: Bashing a KS basher.

It's not a well-written article at all, but there's nothing that rage-worthy or misleading about it. Most VNs could afford to trim a lot of their descriptions and conversations to improve their pacing. That criticism alone can help current developers to improve their VNs a lot. I would like to see y...

Re: Recommend a VN

Out of sheer curiosity, has anyone been able to play any of the Haruhi Suzumiya visual novels? And if so, are any of them actually decent? I'm pretty sure none of them have been or are in the process of being translated, but despite that my adoration of the franchise has my interested piqued. VNs t...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I just finished the Bridge to 10k program. I'm probably going to limit my running to twice a week now, as opposed to thrice as I did before. Two 60-minute runs a week is still more exercise than three 30-minute runs a week anyway. With shoes, you generally get what you pay for. Don't skimp, we're al...

Re: Other Media that gave you "The Feels."

I took a semester of music fundamentals and appreciation, and this was ALL I listened to for a long time. Yeah, classical is where it's at. Doesn't get much more metal, yanno? Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony is heart-crushing and beautiful. Other great, emotionally charged works I've listened to recentl...

Re: After Reading Lilly and Emi's Story

It helped me quit playing video games. Nothing wrong with some video games every once in a while. Learn to prioritize. I've always liked romantic subplots in video games - from Baldur's Gate 2 to Dragon Age - and there have been times when I was far more interested in that than in the game's main p...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I somehow bruised my knee over the weekend, and while I was able to run fine on Monday, it's been hurting pretty bad since then, so I'm probably gonna need to postpone W3D1 until Friday. I hate missing days, but at least that tells me I'm not going to lose my desire to do it. I keep thinking of Emi...

Re: Recommend a VN

Also, has anyone here played the Muv-Luv trilogy? I'm thinking of playing it after ef but I'm still unsure. Is Extra really as bad as they say it is? It depends. It was just mediocre for me. Well, if you only play the Sumika/Meiya route, you'll find it a mostly pleasant experience. The route is mos...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I've decided to do C25K over again, this time pushing myself to go faster during the running sections W1D1 down  again Isn't that a little extreme for a setback? I think Week 4 or 5 would be better. And remember that you use slightly different muscles for sprinting and normal running, so m...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

@SotiCoto: Why do I run? Well, there's the health reason, of course. But running is also a great confidence booster for me. Just knowing that I am already leagues better than I was in Week 2 of the Couch to 5k makes me feel like I can amount to something. And it always feels great to progress to a h...

Re: Most Physically Attractive Girl

It's not easy for me to separate the characters' personality from their physical appearance, so there will be a little bias here. I voted for Miki and Emi. They gave me a new appreciation for athletic, exciting girls. Miki because that voluptuous body just made me want to hit that from the moment I ...

Re: Recommend a VN

A lot of people like it. While the translation is iffy, I would give it an 8/10. How much you like it depends largely on how much you like moe and cutesy slice of life mixed with some drama. While it's certainly not the best out there and can be stalled for stuff like Stein's Gate, it's pretty good...

You guys rock.
Excellent news! Are you going to keep doing 30-minute runs every week? You don't really have to move to a more intense program like the Bt10k like what I'm doing.

Is Hoshimemo really that good? Back in 2009 when the VN translation scene was just taking off, people were saying it was okay at best. I do plan on reading it, it's just not one of my priorities.
