If you can tell apart the idiots from the constructive ragers (which shouldn't be too hard), then the 4chan response (even bad) is generally insightful. (And I say generally.)

Re: My VN pitch

If you're striving to create your own visual novel, then the best place to get feedback is the Lemma Soft Forums. It's pretty much the central hub for English speaking fans who are making western visual novels. Unfortunately, I can't recommend posting on 4chan. No matter how polite and well written...

My VN pitch

This is borderline KS-related, so I'll let the mods take the call on whether it deserves its own thread or should be moved back to the other VN's thread. Anyway. Some days ago I came to these forums with an idea that I wanted to transcribe into VN form. I was suggested to make a pitch. Here it is. h...

Re: Creation of a new (original) VN

Something short, straighfoward and interesting. It's much harder than it sounds, but I feel it's the best way to create a "base" for the project to florish and get people interessed. I think everyone pitching story ideas should come up with a document of some sort. It doesn't have to be long, but j...

Re: Creation of a new (original) VN

@Francis: Several interesting ideas, though I'd recommend you trying to boil it down to a pitch. KS had people talking and thinking about it for ages because of the passion of the people behind it and the interest of the people around then, it's hard to do so when you arestill figuring it all out. ...

Re: Book titles in game...

Life of Pi was absolutely wonderful and I loved it. However, I've read The Trial and it's not something I would recommend - while I enjoy Kafka's atmosphere, his style is one I just can't follow, and I fell asleep on the book too many times to remember. (It being unfinished doesn't help, either.)

Re: Creation of a new (original) VN

I actually like the concept of closure. Maybe it could even feature as a gameplay thing? A long timer, that is barely there, but it's still ticking, read to end the character life? I feel we could add some minor gameplay elements to give a sense of urgency, and even a sense of closure. Life is some...

Re: Creation of a new (original) VN

This actually an interesting idea and if it can turn into a full blown story it can be interesting. The only problem is that not everyone is a historical figure fanatic, so public interest is uncertain. @NubChaos I do like the idea as well. The concept that strikes me the most in that is the modern...

Creation of a new (original) VN

Through the past few days, I've been hearing some talk about people wanting to go off on their own and start making new visual novels. Despite that, I haven't been able to find a single of these projects so far. I have mixed feelings about the idea. At the same time, it'd be something I would really...
