Re: Rin's Path discussion *spoilers*

I'm not sure if the writers really intended her to come off as autism spectrum or not, but speaking as someone with an autism spectrum disorder I could really empathize with her character, that feeling of depersonalization and lack of identity and the feeling like the thoughts going through your hea...

Re: Shock Cocoon: Gascoyne

This could end up spectacular if they had some writers.

I get the impression this is more of an art demo sample than an actual trailer, to try and attract writers who share Limbless' sentiments heh.

Re: Recommend a VN

Just to build onto this thread, I have just completed Shikkoku no Sharnoth I enjoyed Sharnoth quite a bit, it felt less repetitive than Inganock mostly, and the art quality felt a lot less recycled. That having been said the gameplay segments felt unnecessarily long and tedious, I can't help but fe...

Re: Recommend a VN

Style is a matter of taste, and if the music is really horrible, I can turn it off and still read a good story. I'm not sure what you mean by dialogue... I agree that if the writing style is bad, or if the characters say OOC things all the time it does detract from the story. Can't say I have any c...

Re: Recommend a VN

I agree with you, Mirage. Great writing can overcome crappy art, but I've never found great art to be able to overcome crappy writing. Eh that's not really what I meant. Presentation is more than the graphics and art. Story is what happens. Presentation is HOW it happens, the dialogue, the art styl...

Re: Recommend a VN

Plus, funny you mentioned Umineko; I read that up to 7 and will read the rest once 8 is translated. It's very terrible but it's terrible in a way that still keeps you reading - i.e., it's not boring crap with the promise of it getting better at the end, at least it tries to deliver constantly. I wo...

Re: Recommend a VN

MuvLuv Extra was stunningly bad on purpose. The entire point of MuvLuv Extra was to be stunningly bad. Well they succeeded. To the degree that I will never touch an âge game again. I have better things to do than be trolled by smartass moe peddlers. Fair enough. I have to admit I had a really diffi...

Re: Recommend a VN

On the topic of Ever17 (which I admit does have the problems Qeanyin said), I can recommend Remember11 ~The Age of Infinity~, which is of the same series. It's pretty good, I'd say the characters/dialogues are better and mind screw is thicker. Yeah Remember11 is a lot better, although the ending le...

Re: Recommend a VN

I wish I had an answer, I really do - tell me if you find one. The only thing that comes to mind is MuvLuv Alternative, which is supposed to be pretty epic. But I'm soured on the whole franchise because MuvLuv Extra was stunningly bad, I hate the character designs, and I've been badly burned by hyp...

Re: Recommend a VN

Problem when it comes to VNs is most of the time you have to choose between having a garbage cliche story, or a unique story with really poor presentation/dull writing. You mentioned Ever17. Ever17 had a decent story and characters and suffered from poor presentation/writing(the pacing was bad, a lo...

No, I'm saying it's good, if you have a walkthrough, but fails at being what it's marketed as(that is, an adventure game style mystery VN that's intended to encourage people to think it through to solve it).

Re: Recommend a VN

I don't think I've seen Kara no Shoujo posted. It's a fantastically gripping VN. It's a murder-mystery which follows a detective as he cracks down on a number of homocides. It's very well written and has quite the plethora of CG. There are a few small notes, however. Kara no Shoujo is exceptionally...

Re: Put yourself in Hisao's shoes

I'd probably pick Hanako or Rin. Hanako because she's peaceful to be around as long as she isn't having an anxiety attack, and Rin because she has an interesting personality and would be a lot of fun.

Re: Recommend a VN

I have to say Saya no Uta is one of my favorites, and I never thought about it that way. True, I played it the first time and didn't catch the second (shorter) ending; but I still enjoyed it and thought it was more about the story. It may be a bit too much for some people, but I would still recomme...

There's 4 games in the Infinity series as I recall. Never7, Ever17, Remember11, and 12Riven, in that order.
