Re: From Shizune's Perspective

For me, M-dashes are annoying things word does to me sometimes. I don't like them and replace them with 'real' dashes whenever I notice. In German, the only use of the M-dash is when writing round amounts of money, e.g "5,—€". Also for me a space belongs at either end of a dash, otherwise...

Re: From Shizune's Perspective

Ah, I meant to eliminate the spaces; no spaces around the 'M-dashes'. ...I'm not sure quite what you mean by that. Are you talking about the sentences with phrases like "100-m dash"? No, I'm talking about how, for example, “Well yes, Shicchan, you have been acting — wait, I’m a what now?”...

Re: From Shizune's Perspective

Ah, I meant to eliminate the spaces; no spaces around the 'M-dashes'. I'd also make new paragraph after 'Repeating yourself like that is condescending.' Add a comma: And then she signed, “Wish me luck!” (Hey, the curly quotes show up in my copy paste. I like them over the standard ' and ".) Add...

Re: From Shizune's Perspective

Hmph. Well, for the most part I was changing what kind of dashes you were using. Also, I thought it would be pretty obvious that Misha hated being bothered to translate while using her hands, so I had the third paragraph as: Tezuka’s mouth moved. Shiina quieted her with an impatient gesture; she hat...

Re: From Shizune's Perspective

It's okay, I've got the next chapter in my inbox. I've read it and have started editing it.

Ah, more Shizune/Emi stuff. How could I resist shipping my two favorite characters? Not that it occurred to me to do so before Goldilurks did it…

Re: Hisao's heart condition

I kinda like my partners scars. It's an impressive collection plus the one on his back is very sensitive. I don't know they just kinda make him look like a retired action movie hero or something. Especially considering each one has an interesting story attached to it. And how many does he have beca...

Re: Imminent Embarkation

I'll be going in reverse order of my sig. I will patiently wait to achieve a romance with Shizune. Before that Emi will get me in shape for a marathon session. But to start, Rin will confuse and delight me.

It's not that I don't like Rin; I just like all the others more.

Re: State of the Shoujo, 2011

Fantastic news for the New Year! 'Sometime this year' is much better than 'sometime'. Part of me is almost sad, you know? Waiting is it's own sort of pleasure. As the great philosopher Spock said, "After a time you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not ...

Wow. Just… wow.

You've done such a great job here. You've changed all the characters in a believable way. That takes talent.

Re: Winter writing (xmas story starts pg6)

You mixed up Lilly's and Hisao's lines from after she changes clothes. the speaker didn't change, there's just a small time gap between the two paragraphs where Hisao Isn't actively thinking about anything. Looking back at it, I see why I was confused. In one line you had Lilly speak, Hisao describ...

That sneaky Akira, getting them to have the same bedroom. 8) Good stuff. “So are they still allowed If they're about you? ‘cause-“ the spoon interrupts me before I can finish, I think I actually deserved it though. I think this is my favorite line. “It’s about three steps to the bed.” I take t...

Re: Choo Choo!

If nothing else, I feel better about reading this thread in the first place. Thanks.

Just one thing: did Misha survive? I mean, she was killed during this thing; did she come back to life?
