I liked how after Shizune pushes him back on the bed, Hisao's thoughts kinda ran together; how he's not quick enough to get out the words. Good way of conveying the quickened emotions.

Well I didn't have any problem separating out the dream part—assuming it's a dream of course. I've seen such writing devices used before. I think it helped that since you posted it in this forum, it was likely that one of the characters we've come to know so well and yet so little was going through ...
