Re: Please release Katawa Shoujo source code as free softwar
The other thing you seem to be missing is that the "source code" of KS essentially is just the scripts which are obviously more content than software. The only nontrivial code is a few things for customizing the menus and settings, and that's obviously highly specific to KS. I doubt there'...

According to the credits, Mike Inel did the Act 2 opening FMVs.

Re: Ask!
I don't think disabling adult content actually disables the scenes, it just replaces the pictures with photos of innocuous objects.

Re: Ask!
I noticed that a scene was added to Hanako's ending in the final act 1, so I guess technically you did change it (not counting stuff like clarifying the I'm fine choice).

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
I already explained it in the post you quoted. But specifically, whether you get advice from the Nurse doesn't matter at all, and the decision to stay with Emi's Mom could only loosely be considered getting advice.Atario wrote:How so?Notguest wrote:I think your description of the choices is inaccurate.

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
I had to double check those Emi numbers since it sounded wrong. It turns out that your numbers are right, but I think your description of the choices is inaccurate. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th choices don't matter at all. In particular, getting advice from the Nurse doesn't matter. In the only choices tha...

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
Rin was the first girl I got, but I got the manly picnic twice first.
Mainly because I tried to go after Lilly while avoiding everyone else (including Hanako), which put me on the path to Rin by default.

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
Also it is also a very sneaky choice since it's not immediately obvious that not immediately disclosing your condition will lead to a bad end. As a roleplayer I asked myself "Would Hisao do that?" and considering his interior monologue up to this point he definitely wouldn't. It was much ...

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
Well in Act 1, I ended up with Kenji first, since I was trying to go for Lilly and didn't realize that requires chasing Hanako instead. There's a thread here from years back with a poll asking people what the first path they got was. As for the completed game, I managed to get the good ending on the...

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
That's the one thing people say that I don't understand. It's very easy to find Kenji, even by just picking choices haphazardly.Ryusashi wrote: I was fiddling around and had to look up how to get kenjis so I really am a statistical oddity in everything.

Re: Anyone else hate Misha?
I think the bigger problem is that no replacement term is offered. I have literally never seen the term "voice off" before this thread. Eventually I did find some usages of it online ( 1 , 2 ), but they put it in scare quotes, almost as if it is not standard terminology that everyone would...

Re: Act I with random choices - Probabilities
Since we got different results, I decided to double check and redo the calculations as exhaustively as possible. Since I spent two pages plotting out the flow charts, I'm pretty confident. Note that when I say the path doesn't branch, I just mean that there is no difference in the choices or ending ...

Re: Ask!
I'm certain that somebody already did this calculation before, but I just can't find the post, so I just redid the calculation: The probabilities to get a certain Act I ending by randomly choosing your answers is as follows: Kenji: 37,5% Rin: 30,6% Emi: 23,9% Shizune: 3,5% Lilly: 2,3% Hanako: 2,3% ...

Re: Ask!
Emi requires the fewest correct choices to get. I actually did the calculations once, and Emi is the most likely of the girls if you guess randomly at every point (Kenji is more likely then everyone else put together though). The fact that less than half the people say they got Kenji the first time ...
