Katawa Shoujo is built on the Ren'Py visual novel engine, and the current release requires 10.4+. So, there's not much you can do. Time to upgrade? ;) Two major releases have come out since Panther, and Snow Leopard isn't too far away... As for WINE, that probably won't help. If he's on Panther, tha...
