Re: Yamaku Book Club (20190916 Yields Six Servings)

Is that first paragraph something Hisao would write? Those could well be his internal thoughts, but I'm not sure it's like him to write so brutally in any timeline.

Re: NuclearStudent's Story Repository

Index The following post was written in response to Stiles Long's writing contest. Each participant was given a list of KS character pairings and a list of locations. One of each was chosen for this fic. There were a limited set of options available to participants in the contest and it may be that...

Re: Aro's Story Thread.

I feel the same as Oddball.

It's a fluff piece and a slice of life, I get it. All the same, nothing draws me in.

Re: Crafty's One-Shots (Sep 21st, 2019: Someone)

That particular line was Miki using a satirical label in an attempt to unsettle Emi (a form of teasing) - it's jarring because that was the intent behind its usage. That is a success of, not a fault in, her characterization. That it bothered you simply means that you might not get along with the Mi...

Re: Hanako Fancopter One-Shots/Misc. Stuff (Latest 9/24/19)

Much like Crafty, you also did a depressed Misha. I must say, I like your depressed Misha better. I found the transition from bubbly Misha to sad Misha quite engaging and believable. It's quite similar to my own experiences with anxiety and depression, too. That said, I'm less engaged by the interac...

Re: Avenues of Communication (Complete)

it took me a long while to get through this and frankly I really didn't enjoy the first half at all but then I got drunk and it was pretty fun some thoughts here I guess fuckin' some cliches, overheavy on exposition at times, but you can really really feel how your prose and pacing improve over time...

The "you go girl" spin on Hanako is the first and only time I've found Hanako endearing. I'm amazed.

Re: Crafty's One-Shots (Sep 21st, 2019: Someone)

"...Give it a few months, and we’ll be at university, and then everything will be different. Hopefully better.” This sentence felt strange coming from Emi. Was this story in any way inspired by certain recent revelations by a certain KS dev? ? Anyway, on Someone the story itself: The introduction h...

A Lilly-like ending line?

The dialogue certainly puts drama over verisimilitude, but that's certainly an aesthetic.

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 7/26/19)

I did a little bit of rereading. I have to say that I still don't get what this story is about, in the sense that I don't understand the purpose or what I ought to be receiving.

Kinda going over my head.

Re: The Kintsugi Club and Other Stories [08/28/2019]

First of all, The Kintsugi Club is very daring stylistically. I appreciate the experimental work and stylistic innovation you've been doing with the inserted quotes in this piece and in other pieces. It's very daring, but it's very much against my sense of taste. You're a bright mind who doesn't nee...

Re: Sweetest Requiem - A Saki Pseudo-Route

I have nothing productive to remark about your writing. It is Katawa Shoujo fanfiction. Nothing has occurred to pull me or push me in. But I'm sticking around for answers to a question I've held for a long time. Having this sort of prior knowledge, knowing exactly how you will die and what the proce...

Re: Yet another one-shot thread (updated 2019-09-06)

Mileage may vary, but I feel like this climax is a big clunkfest foisted onto the reader without sufficient buildup. "The guilt I feel for making you stay is what's kept me quiet so long. We tried but it didn't work. I'm sorry," I think it is obvious from the story that there was a lot of build-up,...
