Re: Trying to draw again.

Cheers, Dream. I'm actually self taught, so thank you very much for your exceedingly kind comments. I really like the Emi drawing, too, I'm glad you find it interesting. While facial features are a little weird (not sure if that's intentional) over-all your work is extremely good. The last thing I n...

Group shot WIP

Hello.

I'm working on this group shot of KS characters, not in my usual style. I'm looking for critique of anything that sticks out before painting. Let me know what you think (right click and select view in new window/tab). Thank you for taking a look.

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?

Rin's is sudden, but it makes sense in context, considering her reasoning behind it and how it plays through the story. Plus, I thought the first scene was really emotive. Can you imagine the frustration of living as a teenager without arms Rin ? FTFY. Wait, you don't think anyone else similarly li...

It's like any idea: no one is interested until you prove the concept. So, OP, I recommend some kind of proof of concept.

Re: You have been playing too much KS when...

Some people get disturbed at the thought of numerous crippled girls engaging in sexual intercourse. I'd like to say that un-disabling the adult scenes would be a first step towards understanding. Sad, though. That betrays the fact that said people see people with such conditions as something other ...

Listen here and you will have done. We Americans are pretty lazy with our vowels.

I guess all of this is moot if you just listen to Japanese people talk, though!

Re: Katawa inspired anime

^ Hope you stick around on the forums. Anyways, i think your assesment of it is pretty accurate, and the project is indeed pretty ambitious. For what it's worth, it sounds as if OP already had a good bunch of people involved when he started the thread, and the guy does seem pretty decided/serious o...

Re: Just finished KS華子.

I glad the Japanese version of character page is usable once again... Oh, that's where people are getting these spellings. So 笑美 Emi = beautiful smile, 静音 Shizune = Quiet Sound, 琳 RIn = Jewel (they could have used 淋 meaning "lonely"), 久夫 Hisao = Man with a long life (HA HA), 昭夫 Akio = bri...

Re: Japanese language Q&A

All of this ambiguity is removed by understanding the difference between a near-front/near-close/unrounded vowel and a front/close/unrounded vowel . Please click on those links and play the samples Wikipedia has. In The Queen's English, the sound isn't much closer when saying "hit" than in...

Re: Sisterhood (Hanako Epilogue) (Completed)

Initially, I wasn't quite sure whether to do this part from Hanako's POV or Hisao's. I ultimately decided Hanako's made things more interesting. You're lucky Hanako's POV wasn't shown more during that part of the story. That particular week must have been sheer hell for her. :) The pain was worth i...

Re: Katawa inspired anime

I've done some animation before, and something like the KS animations takes a hell of a lot of work for one person. I wouldn't say months, unless you have a bad work ethic, but a long-ass time. To create a full series? That does seem unreasonable unless different people work on the sketching, detail...

<----Remember peeps, the "Hanako's Broken Hearts Club" thread is thataway. A certain amount of overlap is to be expected, but yeah. I wasn't going to say anything, but yeah, I apparently didn't communicate well enough that this thread was meant to be more about how such past experience af...

Re: Japanese language Q&A

Well, either there is something wrong with my English pronounciation of either of those two words (which I doubt) or the difference is so small that you have to be a linguist to hear the difference... I don't know why I didn't realize this sooner, but the issue may be one of accents. I speak with a...
