So in hanako and lilly's paths there was the event of hanako's birthday, where she received various gifts. Of those gifst hisao gave her a porcelain doll, or a chess board.

I was just wondering if you were hanako's date/lover/boyfriend what would you have given her for her birthday aside from said gifts of dolls or chessboards?

Tea set.

But the chessboard was probably the most appropriate thing.

In real life, maybe I would've given her another board game like Go or Backgammon.

Chocolate.

A necklace with a violet (both flower and color) pendant.
Or a crystal colored violet.
A bundle of violets. In a violet vase.
If dating for a couple years, a diamond ring. Violet?

None that I can think of as a gift, especially in real life, them authors did a good job thinking. Perhaps a nice parasol. Not a very gifty present, but it could be made to be.
