Hisao: Shinji, of course. Starts off as a moody wuss, eventually takes a level in badass (full game).

My memory may be a little fuzzy, but I don't exactly recall when Shinji "takes a level in badass". To me, he stays as selfish and cowardly as he is at the beginning right through to the end. If you've seen 'End of Evangelion', you'll surely agree with me. Oh hell, I don't even want to think about that film.

Hisao only "takes a level in badass", or as close as a fairly realistic VN will manage, in the Emi path. In all the others the only way he can do anything remotely badass would involve a heroic sacrifice.

More proof that Emi is awesomeness.
