i also heard that Our protagonist is going to heal in the middle of the game I've never heard anything like that. His condition is supposed to stick with him for the rest of his life. Don't tell me you heard this on 4chan. woudn't it be fair that he finally gets back his own life and comes together...

Re: Reach for the Stars

The terrible stilted and unnatural dialogue that still shows heavy traces of Japanese grammar and idioms most translated VNs end up with is another thing. I don't want to bash fan translators too much (pros have no excuse though) but it's really not something I want to read and I think at this poin...

Re: Deaf, mute, illiterate man tried on drug trafficking cha

Well in that case I don't know how you'd go about prosecuting someone who had sex with someone ignorant about what sex is. If they genuinely didn't know that the person they were sleeping with wasn't educated about sex for whatever reason and their "victim" would outwardly appear to any re...

Re: Deaf, mute, illiterate man tried on drug trafficking cha

Examples abound where the interpreters’ struggles to match both form and function had a significant effect. In a rape prosecution of a Hmong man, for example, the interpreters failed to voice English equivalents to derogatory terms used by the victim, a Hmong woman, in her testimony. See Timothy Du...

Re: Deaf, mute, illiterate man tried on drug trafficking cha

OP updated with a thing. Edit: And to expand on the point I made in my previous post: Many courts mistakenly assume that the interpreter is providing a word-for-word literal translation between languages, and they attempt to shore up the risk of error by leaning on the interpreter to “just tell him ...

Re: Deaf, mute, illiterate man tried on drug trafficking cha

as a result the education level of most Deaf people older than 40 is usually abyssmal. thankfully that has quickly changed in the younger generations. though I really doubts those figures that "30 of all Deaf children leave school functionaly illiterate". those sound like really old numbe...

Re: Imminent Embarkation

This one swears by the Enkindlers that should the other persist in articulating its thoughts with such pretense then it will have no recourse but to float to the other's place of residence and strangle it with murderous intent. Before the other poses the question: Indeed, this one is mad. Furthermor...

Deaf, mute, illiterate man tried on drug trafficking charges

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/113257459.html?viewAll=y Particularly interesting was this part: It may seem hard to believe that in an age of federally supported special education, people emerge into adulthood lacking a fundamental grasp of any language. But 30 percent of deaf children leave seco...

Re: State of the Shoujo, 2011

Since I'd imagine that once the game is released the developers would want to see feedback for the stuff that they worked on without looking through too much feedback on the stuff they didn't, I think it'd be a good idea for each path to have their own feedback thread or subforum, and the same would...
